Times tables to 6x6

Upgrade for more content
The times tables may look like a jumble of numbers and digits without any order. But there is an order, and you can learn the numbers in all the boxes, by practising them little by little, a few minutes every now and then. If you practise little and often, you will soon have learned all the times tables, from 1 to 10. If you already know the answers to the multiplications with the numbers 1 to 4 that are in the upper left corner, then it’s time to move on. Start off with the 5 and 6 times tables - these boxes.
We’ll erase the rest. Do it the same way as when you started with the 1 to 4 times tables. The answers are in the table on the left, and the tasks are to the right. Pause the film. Read the tasks, one by one.
If you already know the answer, say it loud. If you don’t know the answer, check to the left. You’re not supposed to calculate the answer. Retrieve it, either from the memory, or from the table. Now you can pause the film and start practising.
Practice and repetition is effective and often necessary to learn things. The memory “5 times 6 equals 30” exists as connections between cells in the brain. Each time you retrieve the memory from your brain, the connections are strengthened. Once you have retrieved the memory enough times, by repeating it, the knowledge will be so solid it never goes away. So, how did the practice go?
If you are still a bit unsure, you can simply keep practising the same way as before. Retrieve the answer, from your brain or from the tables. Remember, checking the tables is a part of the practise. There’s nothing wrong with it. It’s okay to check the tables a hundred times or more if you need it.
When you know all the answers without checking the tables, you can move on and test yourself without the help of the table. Let’s remove it, and you can go through the tasks again. And remember: if you notice the answer does not come to you automatically, it’s important not to calculate the answer. Pause the film, and test your knowledge. Do you like to practise with a friend?
Will it be more fun if you time it? How long does it take to recite all the 36 boxes you have learned? 4 times 2? 8 4 times 3? 12 5 times 6?
